Ironically, the design of Baby was actually the birth of She’s Empowered as a brand. Before She’s Empowered existed, heavily pregnant women were wearing men’s high vis shirts unbuttoned over a singlet. It was this very scenario that pushed founder Kym Clark into a world of female fashion for the mining industry.
Kym couldn’t believe that in an era where more women were being employed in non traditional roles and industries than ever before, that workwear options was still predominantly for men. Seeing the predicament that her heavily pregnant supervisor was in, was enough to get accountant Kym fired up about making a change.
Baby was a huge success, gaining Australian media attention on national television, in industry magazines and mainstream newspapers, and basically launched the whole brand as you see it today. Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for sizing which is probably hard given everyone’s body is unique, but this means it is time to forget the number on the tag and go with the best fit!
Of course, we try to keep it in line with what you would expect to wear in other brands, however the She’s Empowered Baby Bump maternity safety shirt is made by humans, not machines, which we’re proud of but it means there can be a slight degree of variability between each garment.

If your order doesn’t fit you properly, just get in contact with us and we would be delighted to help you change your size. All products that need exchanging must not have been worn and must be returned in their original form with tags attached in the original packaging.
